Hilda A. Stein

	Hilda A. Stein, age 95, of Pinckneyville, IL, died Saturday, June 12, 2004 at 2:05 a.m. in the Pinckneyville Health Care Center.
	Hilda was born in Conant, IL (Perry County) on October 17, 1908, a daughter of George Henry. and Lavinia Alice (Bergfeld) Berg. She married Sylvester Stein on May 9, 1934 at the St. Bruno Catholic Church Rectory, Pinckneyville, and he preceded her in death on July 26, 1993.
	During her lifetime, she was a member of the St. Bruno Catholic Church, a teacher for over 40 years in Perry County one-room schools, a "Happy Loyalettes" 4-H leader for many years, enjoyed dancing, sewing, crocheting, and playing the piano.
	Survivors include two sons: Frank Stein of Pinckneyville, Sylvester George Stein, and his wife, Carolyn, of Millstadt, IL, two daughters: Maredith McDaniel of Merced, CA and LaVinia Vanetti, and her husband, Donald, of Parkville, MO, eight grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, along with numerous other relatives and friends. 
	Hilda was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters: Cleta Mohr and Mabel Wilson, and a daughter-in-law: Judy Stein.
	Friends called at the Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, on Wednesday, June 16, 2004 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m.
	Funeral services were held on Thursday, June 17, 2004 in St. Bruno Catholic Church, Pinckneyville, at 10:00 a.m. with Fr. Brian Barker officiating. Interment was in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, DuQuoin.
	Memorials may be made to the St. Bruno Catholic School.
